Crosshill Community Association held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, March 17 and at the conclusion of business, two important events took place.
The first was the drawing of names of the 2016 Gala Queen and Page Boy who will be Mhairi Jackson and Jack Dunabie.
The second was the presentation of cheques awarded to local groups by North Carrick Community Benefit company, which is funded by Scottish Power Renewables, via Crosshill, Straiton and Kirkmichael Community Council.
Seven local groups (guides, primary school, karate club, football club, bowling club, WRI, highland dancers) received £200 with the remaining £1,600 being utilised by the community association to make improvements to the community centre.
The cheques were presented by community councillors Patricia McBlain, Emily Pike and Jane Hepburn.
