This report is part of a wider programme of work, the focus of which is to develop a linked set of project proposals that, in combination, could significantly enhance sustainable tourism in North Carrick over the next five years. This will mean bringing more tourists to the area, and/or extending the length and variety of stays in the area.

The Bruce 750th Outline

This work was conducted by Hall Aitken as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

This report outlines tourism opportunities for North Carrick to make the most of the 750th Anniversary celebration of the Bruce’s birth.

This sub-project feasibility study was to consider how the 750th anniversary of the birth of Robert the Bruce, the Earl of Carrick, could be exploited to bring benefits to the people and communities of North Carrick and Ayrshire as a whole.

AR and VR Proposal

This work was conducted by Wonder Fools as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

Wonder Fools considered three technologies: augmented reality, projection mapping and virtual reality. For each they have proposed different potential ideas based on research – exploring ways of sharing the stories of North Carrick with Scotland and the wider world.

North Carrick Arts Trail Handbook

This work was conducted by Fremantle Consultants as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

This document discusses proposals for how to carry out a Public Art Competition that could result in a trail around North Carrick Villages. Fremantle Consultants used a review of comparable Learning Set approaches and consultation to:

  • Explore the area of North Carrick
  • Discuss the aims and ambitions of the NCCBC Board and community
  • Show a variety of examples of good practice within Rural Public Art

Running a Kennedy Park Heritage Centre in Dunure – Estimates

This work was conducted by Hall Aitken as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

This report contains:

  • The initial estimates for running the new heritage and community centre

A multi-purpose hall similar in size to the current hall and then a triple divisible space with flexibility, allowing it all to be used as a café, separate small meeting room, or as an exhibition space. All these spaces benefiting from panoramic views, with utilities and administrative space behind the scenes.
