Rural Skills Investigation

This work was conducted by CEIS as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

This report explores rural skills definitions, provision and development in North Carrick. It represents the initial step in understanding rural skills within this specific context and provides suggestions on future development of rural skills training and provision within North Carrick to develop a skilled workforce across the community. Through in-depth interviews with employers/ training providers and desk-based research the report examines the definition of rural skills in North Carrick, the current provision of rural skills, training gaps and areas of opportunity.

Rural Retail Park Study Report

This work was conducted by CEIS as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

This report investigates :

  • A baseline for the project in terms of goals, assessment criteria and initial enterprise concept
  • key findings from study research
  • a proposed enterprise model, development approach and associated business risks
  • a SWOT Analysis assessment of the overall project, and associated conclusions
  • supporting information in appendices

Online Portal Options

This work was conducted by CEIS as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

This report investigates needs for a potential Online Learning Portal based on the work done for the Rural Skills and Third Sector Training Academy.

It looks at desired outcome, who would benefit and goes into detail on several different solutions:
1) Bespoke portal
2) Off-The-Shelf portal
3) Signposting portal
Each potential solution has different merits and issues, but they cover the range of solutions needed to spark this project into life.

The Bruce 750th Outline

This work was conducted by Hall Aitken as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

This report outlines tourism opportunities for North Carrick to make the most of the 750th Anniversary celebration of the Bruce’s birth.

This sub-project feasibility study was to consider how the 750th anniversary of the birth of Robert the Bruce, the Earl of Carrick, could be exploited to bring benefits to the people and communities of North Carrick and Ayrshire as a whole.

AR and VR Proposal

This work was conducted by Wonder Fools as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

Wonder Fools considered three technologies: augmented reality, projection mapping and virtual reality. For each they have proposed different potential ideas based on research – exploring ways of sharing the stories of North Carrick with Scotland and the wider world.

North Carrick Arts Trail Handbook

This work was conducted by Fremantle Consultants as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

This document discusses proposals for how to carry out a Public Art Competition that could result in a trail around North Carrick Villages. Fremantle Consultants used a review of comparable Learning Set approaches and consultation to:

  • Explore the area of North Carrick
  • Discuss the aims and ambitions of the NCCBC Board and community

Heritage and Cultural Tourism Strategic Plan

This work was conducted by Hall Aitken as part of NCCBC’s Foundations for Recovery Programme.

The below strategy contains:

  • A set of four possible future scenarios for tourism demand in North Carrick (and more widely across Ayrshire); ⎯ A risk-based assessment of the mix of products and marketing messages
  • An increasing need for real-time visitor feedback; and
  • The means to adjust and adapt when unanticipated challenges arise
